The Hatchery

Named for its original function as a fish hatchery dating back to the 1940’s, The Hatchery is an up and coming mixed-use development located on the shores of Lady Bird Lake in central east Austin. During his term as President, Lyndon B Johnson purchased the land to make an affordable housing space for the elderly of Austin and the structure stands and functions to this day.

As Momark Development expands the affordable housing units and adds more retail and residential to the area, they have engaged us to create a brand for the district through naming exercises and visual design, as well as physical signage design and materials selection. We’ll continue work with Momark to create the district’s multi-layered web presence.
